

She is predeceased by her parents, Lucille and J. R. Herring and Floyd Whitworth and her beloved son, Thomas Sawyer Jr., grandparents Bertha Lee and Ernest E. Crume, all of Houston and Mary and Ambrose Whitworth of Smithville, Texas
Glenda was a native Houstonian and graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. She also attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
She enjoyed a lengthy career at Houston Cardiovascular Associates with Dr. Don Chapman, Dr. William Winters and Dr. William Spencer. Later she would work several more years for these physicians at Baylor College of Medicine.
Glenda is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberley, son-in-law Richard Rolland, granddaughter Ashley and grandson Troup. Other survivors include her sisters and their husbands, Yvonne Whitworth and Hugh M. Miller; Jean Whitworth and Robert B. Hunt, and stepbrother and sister-in-law J. Robert and Carolyn Herring as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenda was a member of the River Oaks Luncheon Club and the Philos Social Club later to become Zeta Tau Alpha. She also volunteered at the Museum of Health and Medical Science. Glenda spent many happy days with her family and friends at their place in Port O'Connor. The family would like to thank Dr. William Winters, Dr. and Mrs. William Spencer and Cathy Ramsey for their love and strong support during the past few months.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 3:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
