

Glenda Joyce (Maltby) Sharp, of Houston, Texas passed away on March 27, 2024 at the age of 78. She had the “honor” of being the first baby born in Kingsville, Texas in 1946 (January 1, 1946) to Glenn and Louise (Pace) Maltby.
She spent most of her youth in Desdemona, Texas before moving to the Dallas area after graduating high school. After several years in Dallas, she moved with her children to the Houston area. She worked as an Accounts Payables clerk at Coastal Oil and Gas Company before taking an early retirement in 2001 to do mission work.
Glenda was an active member of Westbury Church of Christ. It was during her time at Westbury that she was not only able to support various missionaries but attend multiple mission trips herself. She was able to share her love of Christ to people in Scotland, Honduras, and the Philippines to name a few.
Glenda’s unwavering faith carried her through many health struggles over the last 40 years. Her resilience was a testament of her faith. She fought hard up until the end.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and her older brothers, James Maltby and Ken Maltby. Survivors include her sister Beverly Smith; her children: Wendy Sharp, Chris Sharp and his wife, Adriana; grandchildren Victoria, Christina, and Charles; and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 1-2pm with a Celebration of life to follow, at Westbury Church of Christ, 10424 Hillcroft St, Houston, Texas 77096.
