Gloria Jean Amerman passed away on July 18, 2011 in Houston, TX. She was 90 years old. Gloria was born on March 26, 1921 to Jean and Fred Robinson and grew up and spent her entire life in Houston. She was involved in many social and charitable organizations and one of her favorites was the Women's Christian Home where she spent many hours helping others. She was a member of The Women's Auxillary Club as President and The Shuta Study Club as President. She also served as a Cub Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher. Gloria was an avid bridge player for 40 years. Many friends were made during this time and she loved entertaining and sharing friendships. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Amerman, Sr. and her son, Tom and his wife, Patty. She is survived by her sons, Jack Jr. and wife, Sheila of Houston, Bill and wife, Carolyn of Las Vegas, Nevada and one daughter, Bettye and husband, Jack of Houston. Maw Maw was a wonderful grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was entertaining and inventive. She made holidays and birthdays a special treat and we shall miss her smile and caring personality. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 6-8 pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, 10 am in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer.
