

Gloria, also known as Gmama, was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Harry Myles McLeod; her son, Michael Douglas Smith; her daughter, Rebecca Gail Harrison; her father, Robert Hardy Smith; and her mother, Tura Andrews Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennie McLeod, her grandsons, JB Smith, wife Corrie; Cody Kennedy, wife Charla; Dusten Lassiter, and Dylan Rhynard; her granddaughter, Amanda Ukrainetz and husband Terry; great-grandsons, Robert Garza, Carson Kennedy, Ayden Kennedy, and Brax Lassiter; great-granddaughter, Skylar Ferguson; her niece, Drewan Nugent, who she loved like a daughter; and her beloved Smith family who she cherished and was affectionately known as Aunt Sister.
Gloria and Harry's love story began in 1968 when Harry proposed to her on a high school track. Together, they built a life centered on family, adventure, and shared passions. They raised three children and created cherished memories through family road trips across the United States and many trips abroad, especially to Scotland. They also shared a deep love of genealogy research, spending countless hours tracing and preserving their family histories.
Gloria dedicated 30 years of service to GMAC, where she worked as a secretary and was respected for her hard work, kindness, and dependability.
She enjoyed running, walking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. In her younger years, Gloria loved crocheting and sewing, creating many handmade treasures for those she loved.
Gloria was perhaps best known for her remarkable determination and energy.
After the age of 40, she and Harry began running marathons and participating in numerous races, inspiring many with her perseverance and spirit. She was also deeply involved in her community, serving for many years as treasurer and secretary of the South Central MacLeod Clan and as President of the Maplewood West Association.
Gloria will be remembered for her strength, devotion to family, adventurous spirit, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on May 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on May 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on May 19, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
