My condolences to the family of Gloria Torres,

In Memory of a life so beautifully lived...a heart so deeply loved

How very softly you tiptoed into our world,
almost silently, only a moment you stayed.
But what an imprint your footsteps have left upon our hearts

For those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal."

"Some people come into our lives,
leave footprints on our hearts,
and we are never the same.

"May tender memories soften the family grief,
May they fond recollection bring you relief,
And may all of you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought...
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side.
When memory paints in colors true,
the happy hours that belonged to you."
Gloria Torres was one who touched
many lives, one with style and class
one who sparkle 24/7
she will never be forgotten

My Condolences to the family of Ms. Gloria Torres

My heart breaks for the family for the incredible loss of Gloria. What a wonderful spirit and beautiful soul. My memories with Gloria surround her home purchase and how she brought me into her family as if I had been a family member myself. She has such beautiful children and grandchildren, a true reflection of her love and support for her family. You were all blessed to have such a beautiful woman in your lives. My sincerest thoughts for the entire family at this time. Continue to make her tamales and celebrate the way she always did. She gave you lots of wonderful memories to reflect upon and share for many future generations to come. Peace and blessings to each of you in this most difficult time.

I am so saddened to hear of Gloria ‘s passing and her battle. The first thought I had when I learned of this was Gloria was always full of life, she was bigger than life❤️ I worked with Gloria at the airport; she was always smiling and making others smile.

I knew Gloria from Jeff Davis 1973. We were great friends. I had her a few classes. I have been looking for her for years. I really don’t remember if we met during Jr Hi (Marshall). How I wished I had found my sweet friend Gloria, sooner. But, at least I know now that she is resting with her heavenly family. To my sweet ... Gloria, I have been looking for you , we had so much to talk about and catch up and also to share our memories and share photos of our kids and grandkids. I have missed you all this years , hoping that I would find you thru Social Media , but now I will only keep up with you thru prayers. You Rest Peacefully My Beautiful Gloria and fly above us with your brand new wings that God has given you. Amen 🙏❤️🎚

Biography

When Gloria walked into the room, those in her company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Gloria was and how she impacted those around her. She was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. She had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While she was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to her for inspiration, leadership, wisdom and even courage. Gloria was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with her loved ones.

Gloria was raised with seven siblings and was very accepting and supportive of her family. She was perceived as the central person in her family in terms of keeping communication open between the family members. These traits served Gloria well in her adult life and, along with her wit, outgoing personality, and understanding of others, drew the admiration of many who knew her.

She was employed for over 20 years with the City of Houston and retired in 2018. Because she was such a flexible person and able to adjust to any situation, retirement was just another enjoyable change of pace for Gloria to master. In retirement, she found new pleasure in spending more time with family and simply enjoying life. Even in retirement, Gloria continued to stay in touch with her old friends and like always, made plenty of new ones.
