Guillermo Flores

February 10, 1948 – March 13, 2020
Obituary of Guillermo Flores
IN THE CARE OF

Funeraria Del Angel Crespo

Guillermo Flores, “Willie” passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and kids on March 13, 2020 at the age of 72.

He is survived by his wife Yolanda Flores, his sons Joe A. Flores, Guillermo Flores Jr. and spouse Linda Flores, Danny Flores and spouse Rebecca Flores, Desmond Flores and spouse Delma Flores; his grandchildren Teodoro Padron, Madeleine E. Flores, and Faith M. Flores; his siblings Irenio Flores and spouse Osbelia Flores, Noemi Ramirez, Aleida Flores Garcia and spouse Jorge Garcia, Rolando Flores, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Flores, his brother, Hector Flores, his father, Manuel Flores and mother, Ariopajita Flores.

Guillermo Flores, was born on February 10, 1948 in the small town of Los Ebanos, Texas, the first born among his siblings. He graduated from La Joya High School in 1967. He moved to Corpus Christi, TX. to attend college and it was there where he met the love of his life, Yolanda Flores. Years later, they married and moved to Houston, Texas. It was here that they bought their home and raised all their children and continued to do so to this day with their own grandchildren. They would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 27, 2020.

He was a man of strong faith, and like his mother, he would pray the rosary daily. His charismatic personality was as big as he was, along with his voice. Some say he was the voice up and down the halls of Austin H.S. where he volunteered as a hall monitor and a Band Booster parent. He loved sports and was known by many in the neighborhood because of coaching little league, that his sons also participated in, but also because he was that neighbor that spoke to everyone. He never forgot where he came from after leaving his hometown of Los Ebanos, but always knew where his eternal home was. In his last days, he expressed that he had completed his mission on this earth and was not afraid of death. In his words, “We were born to die.” He was an extraordinary man and he will be greatly missed by many.
