Gumesinda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, ceramics, and cooking. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—sharing coffee and empanadas, and especially savoring her beloved vanilla ice cream.
She was the proud mother of four children: Beatrice Longoria (Deceased); Consuelo Castilleja (Juan Castilleja - Deceased); Monico Munoz (Anita Munoz – Deceased); and Margaret Tovar (Deceased).
She was a devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren who were also blessed by her love. She cherished being a grandmother and wore that title with pride and joy.
One of her favorite songs was “La Puerta Negra” by Los Tigres del Norte. She loved to dance and especially listen to tejano music. She showed her love to her family by designing and crocheting little items for the kitchen. She would make aprons and sell them to local restaurants in her area. Her sisters would often accompany her.
She loved spending time with her sisters throughout her lifetime, making special memories with each one of them and, sometimes with all of them. Her sisters Ambrosia, Francis, Isabel and Maria are now all together.
Her grandchildren affectionately called her, “Bila”. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her. Her warmth, strength, and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Bila lived her life guided by faith, love, and devotion to her family. She trusted in God through every season of her life, and her gentle spirit reflected His grace in the way she cared for others. Her hands were always busy serving, her heart always open, and her prayers always near.
