Gwenda J. Loper, 71, of Anderson, Texas, passed away on June 23rd, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas, on June 24th, 1953, to parents Hill V. Wootan and Winnie O. Wootan. Gwen attended and graduated from MacArthur High School, where she met her husband of 52 years, Randy Loper. Gwen held different jobs throughout the years but mainly focused her attention on taking care of her family at home. Gwen enjoyed crafting in many forms, loved going to the casino, and was a giving person by nature.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Randy Loper, mother, Winnie Wootan, and father, Hill Wootan. Gwen is survived by her daughter, Lesley Briggs; son, Brian Loper; son-in-law, Phillip Briggs; future daughter-in-law, Tiffany Tankersley; and grandchildren, Hannah, Selah, Nathan, and Hadassah.
A visitation for Gwenda will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM, with a reception to follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
