In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

You were they sweetest, I will never forget when we were in undergrad and you really wanted a kitty cat...I told you, " Well you should get one!" ... when I saw you again you told me you had a kitty and were hiding it because your parent's didn't know about it. I remember laughing so hard , you made my day. You were so excited...and the best cat mom ever. 
I counted on your Yelp reviews as I knew you were honest and kind. My outings will not be the same.
You are gone way too soon but will continue to live on in every ones' memory. You have touched so many people and I hope you know the difference you made to those around you. Your will be missed.

You go to college to get an education. If you are lucky you get to make a few friends. I have to say I was beyond lucky... I was blessed. Blessed with Priya's friendship. She cared and her actions showed it. She was the perfect balance of strength, gentleness, and humility. She spent countless hours clarifying engineering concepts that I doubt we will ever understand exactly how her exceptional mind did. Priya, I owe you so much. Thank you for all the beautiful memories and lasting impressions you have left in my life. And as we always ended our conversations... Take care and be good.

I knew you only briefly in college but everything I knew of you was beautiful. You were so kind to everyone, very bright, and hard-working. Your life was ended too soon. My utmost condolences to the family. Rest in peace beautiful soul.

Baby girl, where did our time go? Our ten year friendship anniversary is coming up soon.. We always talked about seeing the world together. We had plans, don't you remember? I wanted to revisit my favorite cities with you and show you all the wonderful places and food I've found. I wanted to show you the breath taking sights I witnessed after climbing the green mountains in Taiwan, Paris the city of lights, the winding streets of Venice, and the fervent Manhattan life. I wanted to share with you the wonderful Earth I've seen, but you can see all of it now. I know it now that He has taken you-so suddenly-because He needed you so fast. He needed your kindness, your smarts, your presence, and your wit to heal the world. Please keep us safe and do the best you can. Miss you so much, brown bear. Love you so much.
