We grew up together on Maury Street across from the railroad tracks. Your talent and intelligence were beyond your years. What a winning smile you had! I had a hard time conversing with you because you always asked the tough questions? I didn't want to think that deeply as I was usually sucking a BBQ soaked rib on the 4th of July which is when I saw you most often after we became adults. Your legacy lives on in your beautiful daughters and grandchildren. Rest from your labor in peace.

My Uncle Harold exuded masculinity.  From his baritone voice that commanded attention to his tall statue, he had charm that could light up a room and a huge smile to seal the deal.  I remember growing up around the corner from him and all the time Tomora and I spent at his house with Tonya, Tiffanye, and Nikki, Theresa came later.  One memory that stands out is when his crazy chow attacked us in the backyard as we enjoyed our favorite pass time, playing Barbie.  LOL!  He was a class act and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  We love you Uncle Harold.  Gone but not forgotten.

Although we didn't spend much time together, I feel as though my grandfather had a great impact on me. I always admired his talent and skill, and every time I was in his presence, there was a great sense of authority and power that exuded from him. I will always remember his chess pieces and his homemade cane, and his jiggly water bed that he had in his house. I love him and he will never be forgotten.

i know you're happier than youve ever been now. i also know that you left the world accomplishing many things , especially the art of chess. i love you and i hope you and uncle otis rest in peace. #Team CowBOYSSS , they playin tonight 0ct.30.2011. !!

Brother, I always admired and looked up to you, eventhough you had no letters behind your name;your knowledge and creativity surpassed the most learned scholars, you Mastered your game.
 I remember as a young girl, sitting for hours just listening to you talk, and man you always had a lot to say;
 You were a family man, you loved hard and gave a 100%, your way. No one could speak better of you, than you, youself, you could talk about you, if nobody else. 

I miss your smile, your laugh, your thoughts, were all so strong, they resonate in my spirit all thr day long. You were a man of truth, as you knew it it to be, and now that you have transcended...The truth has made you free.
 Keep smiling on us, because that is what I will miss the most;You are in a "NEW PLACE" with family and friends as your "NEW HOST".

Although, I have already exprssed myself previously, I have desire to honor my brother, HAROLD EUGENE DEWALT with more words of praise and admiration.  Your gift of genuine love and support to your family wlll never be replaced or duplicated.  You were unique and special in all your ways.    I'll always carry that feeling of warmness that I shared with you as your baby sister.  You continuously made me feel good about myself, physically and mentally.  You even played a role in my spiritual life which now plays a role in my adult life.  You adored my daughter, Destinee and never got a chance to know my youngest two now, Kenberly and Kenny, but I'm sure you would adored them too, not as much as you adored your three lovely daughters, though, Tonya, Tiffanye and Teresa, to whom I pray your legacy will continue to live on and on!  I will forever miss your style, your commitment, your superior craftmanship and sitll again your infectious smile!

I remember how proud I was hearing from my mother(your Aunt Barbara) and 
seeing the photos when you made a chess set for the President of the United States of America! That let me know what kind of blood was running through my veins. Your achievement and many others that followed encouraged me to reach for the stars. And now looks like you dwell among them! We'll miss seeing you at Dad's annual b-dy bash. Love and prayers to our family during this time of adjustment.

Uncle Harold, Even though you are in a much better place now I still wish I could have seen you more. But the times I have spent with you are memories that I'll always hold dear to me. I love you and you'll forever have a special place in my heart:)

Love is the only thing that transcends the grave...it never dies.  To Harold's beautiful daughters (Tonya, Tiffany and Theresa) - the love that's safely tucked away in your heart can never be taken from you and you will find that it will continue to grow with the passage of time. You are spiritually connected to your dad forever. His fatherly advice will continue to guide you as you make withdrawals from its deep reservoir for the rest of your life.  When you gaze into the mirror, you'll catch a glimpse of him and you can smile and say to yourself – “I am my daddy's girl!” 

Guard your heart and your mind and allow no space to thoughts of regret that can pull you down emotionally but rather, take charge of your thoughts and follow this advise from God's word:  Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy —think about such things.  Philippians 4:8

Chess pieces, swords and cigars. Waterbeds, class and a lil somethin' somethin' in a glass. My uncle and his toothy grin never let you forget he was a man. Filled with masculinity that seemed to melt when his girls entered the room. The look of pride and love in your eyes when ever we had time to spend together will always be in my memory. You will be missed and always loved.

Harold Eugene DeWalt, my 2nd to oldest brother your smile and warm heart will forever be embedded in my mind and heart. Rest in peace, dear brother.  I'll love you always!
