Harold Lloyd Preston passed away October 20th, 2020. He was born June 28th, 1955 in Athens, Texas. He attended Bishop Heights Elementary school before moving to Houston. He graduated from Jack Yates High school in 1973. He graduated Texas Southern University with a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1978. He joined the Houston Police Force in 1979.
He married Ruby Preston on May 6th,1989. At the time of his death he was engaged to Flinda Whitney.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking candid pictures on every occasion. His passions lay within photography, especially landscape and black and white pictures. His favorite radio station was NPR, exposing his daughter to politics and the arts. He loved collecting pictures, newspaper clips and electronics. He loved to watch gold and tennis as well as the british tv show EastEnders. One of his favorite movies is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
He belonged to the Houston Police Officers Union as well as the Afro American Police Officers League.
He leaves to mourn daughter Alison Preston and her mother Ruby Smart, his parents Annie Mae and Robert Preston, his five aunts Mary Allen and Barbra Ellis of Dallas TX, Iva Tolliver of Seattle, WA, and Tommie Jones of Houston Tx. A very special cousin Stacey Collins and many other relatives.
