Harold led a very full and varied life. He joined the army at nineteen and served in the Korean War for three years. He lived in Wichita, Kansas, and worked for Boeing. He built and raced dragsters in the mid-60s. There are many articles about Harold and his competitive cars. He moved to Houston and joined the Commemorative Air Force in the late 70s and became the maintenance officer with rank of Colonel with the West Houston Squadron. Because of his involvement with both the Commemorative Air Force and Wings Over Houston and his love of flying, he eventually started Wilson Aircraft Company in the 80s, which specializes in small aircraft repairs and continues to operate.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Wilson; sister, Bonnie Stockstill; brother, Gene Wilson; children, Cheryl Inkelaar and Greg Wilson; step children, Deborah Edmonds, Kresha Bishop, Lance Null, and Steven Null; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Stateroom at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. He will be laid to rest at Wright Cemetery in Clever, Missouri, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
