Her Legacy
On May 11, 1931, in Houston, Texas a beautiful baby girl was born to Samual and Jannie Cain, whom they named Hazel. She attended school in Houston and was baptized at a young age. She was one of nine children.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Samual and Jannie Cain, her husband Don Prince, her son Fred Woods, and seven of her siblings; Jethro, Sam, Edward,
Dorothy, Joe, Charles, and Freddie. Her only remaining sibling Louis Cain lives in Rialto, California along with his precious wife Verdi.
She was married to Don Prince in June 1957 and was the mother of four children. She worked in the food service industry for several years until she retired and started her daycare service.
She was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and attended services until her health failed.
Our mother lived a very long and vibrant life, and we were blessed to have her for 93 years. She was always there to help family and friends when called upon. She loved dressing up and having a good time with family and friends. She was also a proud dog mom.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Mama was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory: one brother, Louis (Verdi) of Rialto, California; three children; Jannie Woods, Brenda Rhodes, and Donald Prince (Glinder), all of Houston, TX; one daughter-in-law, Gloria; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory a special friend Scotty, and her beloved dog Prince.
