Born August 2, 1988, brought joy and life to life. Hector began his war at such a young age with an open heart surgery at age 5 for a hole in his heart. Then began his journey through life. He graduated from Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice High School in the hopes of becoming a government official. It is here where he made many of his closest friends. At age 16, Hector again faced another battle, he was diagnosed with chiari malformation. The doctors took care of him and he overcame this obstacle. Hector continued his studies post high school at Houston Community College and graduated with a Liberal Arts major. Then in August of 2010 began his studies at the University of Houston with a major in Political Science and a minor in Mexican American studies with the goal of becoming a politician to make his way in to the system and thus bring change for Mexican's.Those who knew him know how centered, intelligent, and just pure amazing he was. He loved his nephews and was a great uncle, a great brother, son, and friend. Hector wasn't a man of many words but when he opened his mouth to utter some words he made sure that it was meaningful. In January of 2011, Hector was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma and thus began his last and bloodiest battle. Through biopsy's, medications, treatment, long sleepless nights, months in the hospital, months without food and a sense of smell, Hector still remained firm, positive, strong, hopeful, and trustworthy in God. Never once did he give up or complain or reproach. Always on two feet and with a smile on his face. He showed us a very valuable lesson which is to never ever give up no matter how bad the storm. He fought until his last breath and by simply not giving up he won this war. God needed a helper and a person like him is sure to be of great use to God. On May 10, Hector took his last breath and his heart took its last beat but all the hundreds of memories he made with all of us will keep him alive forever. A revolution in the making, now a revolution at work beyond the gates of heaven. I love you brother.
