

At an early age, Helen moved with her family to Houston where she graduated from San Jacinto High School. Helen was a graduate of the University of Texas and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Upon graduation, Helen began employment with Humble Oil and Refining Company here in Houston. She also was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross during World War II. After the war, Helen met and married her husband of 62 years, Laurence Francis Krebs, who passed away in November of 2008. She traveled the world with him during his tour of duty as a pilot in the United States Air Force. After the war, they returned to Houston and opened and operated a construction and real estate development business that Helen managed as a partner.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Anne Johnson of Dallas; and her nephew, Allen Potter, III of Houston.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 1st of November at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive, in Houston. The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 2nd of November in the Jasek Chapel at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons. A private burial at Houston National Cemetery will be held the following day.
In lieu of the customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in Helen’s memory.
