Helen "Mimi" Rose Zeman Lamb, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born on January 27th, 1927 in Medford, Oklahoma to Anna and Otto Zeman, Sr.
Helen grew up in Medford Oklahoma and graduated from Medford High School in 1945. She attended college at Oklahoma State (OAMU) and became a school teacher in Medford before marrying Charles E. “Gene” Lamb. Helen and Gene were married for 36 years and raised five children, all of whom graduated from The University of Texas.
Helen enjoyed traveling the world with Aunt Nelda, spending time with family at their Brenham ranch, playing bridge, Wii bowling, playing the piano, needlepointing, and making baby quilts for newborns. She celebrated each holiday with personalized t-shirts or bracelets for the grandkids. Ever the
well-bred lady she had her rules - a gentleman NEVER wore a hat at her dinner table.” if you forgot, you could expect a clever or not so subtle reminder.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Anna, her husband Gene Lamb (1922-1984), her younger brother Otto Zeman, Jr. and her son Alan Eugene Lamb (1949-2004).
Helen is survived by her daughters Sharon Lamb, Carol Lamb Pemberton and husband Bob, Debra Lamb Stubblefield and husband Tom, her son Brian Lamb, and his wife Terri, her grandsons Stephen Flowers, Cal Lamb, Marshall Flowers, Danny Durio, Ryan Lamb and her granddaughter Essy Lamb.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, Texas at 10:00 am on Wednesday January 13, 2016. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home’s Chapel 9:00–10:00 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Interment will immediately follow the memorial service at Forest Park Cemetery.
