Helen Elizabeth Sawyer

In the early hours on Wednesday, February the 2nd ,2022 , Helen Elizabeth Sawyer, passed away at the age of 82. She was born on February 10th, 1939 in Houston Texas to Harvey Oliver and Helen Roxey Emerson. She was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters whom have preceded her in death, Patsy, Walter, Judy, Karen, Brenda, Chris, with her brother John Emerson as the remaining survivor. She graduated Mary Brantly Smiley High School in 1957. She married Thomas Eugene Sawyer in 1959 and raised a son and daughter, Timothy Dwayne Sawyer and Lisa Lynn Smith. She worked and retired from Texaco as an Executive Secretary with 39 years of service. She was a devoted Catholic and remained focused and resolute in her beliefs to the end. Later in Life, she met and married Dan Terrill who preceded her in death.

Liz loved to travel, was an avid reader, enjoyed walking, exercising, outdoors, hunting, fishing, and visits from and conversations with friends and family.

Left to cherish her loving memory, daughter: Lisa Lynn Smith & husband Jay Smith; son: Timothy Dwayne Sawyer & wife Elizabeth Sawyer; Grandchildren: Misty Sawyer, Kimber Sawyer, Patrick Davis, Blake Davis; step Grand-daughters: Rachel West, Melanie Huggett, Shannon Smith, Kristen Wilcox. Great-grandchildren: Korbin, Jax, Hunter, Chloe, Denver, Paxton, Triton, Ryder, and soon to arrive, Roczen.

Visitation for family and friends will begin on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 9am with the graveside service to follow at 11am in Brookside Memorial Park.
