

Henry Demuth, 84, died peacefully on Friday, March 18th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Henry was born December 19, 1931 in Brenham Texas. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Bertha Demuth.
Henry served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. On May 8, 1955, Henry married Margaret Jo (Kolkhorst). They lived in Houston where they raised their 3 children. Henry was an active member, serving as treasurer for several years at St. John’s United Church of Christ; more recently, he joined St. Stephens United Methodist Church. Henry enjoyed volunteering and umpiring little league baseball at Oaks Dads Club, playing golf, hunting, fishing, grilling and spending time with family.
Henry, a graduate of the University of Houston, worked in the tax accounting profession for several large energy companies in Houston.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret Kolkhorst Demuth, sister Augusta Underwood and her husband Claude of Wichita, KS; daughters, Karen Shahan and her husband Glenn, Lori Van Cleave and her husband Hayes and son, Mark Demuth and his wife Lia; seven grandchildren, Ryan Shahan and wife Angela, Amy (Shahan) Reynolds and husband Nick, Daniel Shahan, Brittany Van Cleave, Cody Van Cleave, Lindsay Demuth and Ali Demuth; 2 great grandchildren Kashton Shahan and Jackson Reynolds; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
