

Herbert was born in Beaumont, Texas on July 8, 1928. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, two sisters, his son, Herbert C. "Herbie" Dupuy Jr., and daughter, Janice Dupuy. Herbert is survived by his wife Carolyn "Sue" Miller Dupuy, daughter Anna Neece Dittemore and her two sons, Ricky and Nick, daughter Susan Dupuy Gibbs and her two sons, Matt and Kyle, and many other loving family members and friends.
Herbert attended Southpark High School in Beaumont where he was an active bull rider and quarterback of the football team for which he received an athletic scholarship from New Mexico A&M. After graduating from high school in 1946, Herbert worked for the Fruitland Grocery Store in Beaumont and ran its butcher shop. Herbert and Carolyn moved to Hampshire, Texas in the '80s and he worked as a cattleman and an oil field construction foreman. In his later years, Herbert and Carolyn moved to Houston to be closer to family. In Houston, Herbert worked at Kickerillo Companies for Vincent Kickerillo, whom he loved and admired. Herbert enjoyed playing poker and dominoes andspending time with family watching sporting events. All who knew Herbert were blessed by his kind words, a pat on the back and his infectious smile.
Herbert's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Louise Busby and her staff as well as Norma Silva for their loving care. They would also like to thank LaDonna Hill for her support and caring guidance until his final moment.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 1 in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
