Mr. Sheffield was a self-employed painter and wallpaperer. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Edward and John Jr. and 3 sisters, Isabel, Charlotte and Eleanor.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in his name to the Salvation Army or your favorite charity.
