Herman Dale Kaufman

Herman Dale Kaufman (Herman) went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 5, 2013 at the age of 78. He was an outstanding athlete for Stephenville High School, playing football and baseball for four years, and track and basketball for one year. He was inducted into the Stephenville High School Hall of Fame in 2007. After graduation he earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and worked 35 years in the petroleum industry before retiring from Kinder Morgan in 1996. After retiring he was active with gardening, travel, and church activities. Herman was a godly man, humble, and always ready to serve. He was an active member of Chapelwood Methodist, serving on the Usher Committee, Men’s Bible Breakfast and with the Stephen Ministry.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Reed Kaufman and parents Herman and Opal Kaufman. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patsy Kaufman, his two children, Kevin Kaufman and wife Kathy, Kathy Thomas and husband Ty, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step daughters, Deanna Kilbourne, and Laurie Goodman and husband Gary.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the chapel at Chapelwood Methodist Church at 10:00 am on Monday, April 8, 2013, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chapelwood Foundation, or charity of choice.
