

Herman was a successful businessman who spent decades working in the construction industry. Through his hard work, integrity, and determination, he built not only a respected career but also a strong and lasting foundation for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, Popsy, Great-Popsy, and friend, who took great pride in caring for and supporting those he loved.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially golfing, hunting, and spending meaningful time with his family. His steady presence, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Herman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha, and his son, James.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Laura Strothers Kennedy, and her husband, Brandon Kennedy; his grandchildren, Anslie Geades Justus (Austin), Justin Strothers (Laura), Camryn Walkley, Evelyn Kennedy, and Zoë Kennedy Bourque (Maliki); and his great-grandchildren, Zackary, Beckett, and Brady.
Herman’s legacy lives on through the generations he loved so deeply, and he will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX, 77077, on February 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a committal service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
