Hilda was the third child of 14 children born to the Lee Jackson family in Annotto Bay, Jamaica. Having lost both parents at the early age of 19, she assumed the role of parent, guardian and was known as "Aunt Sissy" to her siblings, nieces and nephews. She inherited a strong business acumen and work ethic and followed her parent’s footsteps in business ownership which ranged from super markets to real estate.
In 1978, Hilda relocated to Houston, TX and spent most of her days knitting, crocheting, sewing clothes for her grandchildren, crafts, cooking, volunteering at Northwest Hospital in Houston, and sewing prayer blankets for the Prince of Peace Prayer Blanket Ministries and of course being a constant mentor and guiding force to her family. She was as strong in her faith as she was in her guidance and unwavering love for her family and leaving an impact on anyone who crossed her path with her positive light. Almost a century in age, we will never forget her grace and dignity, her humbleness and constraint, her faith and passion, in her blessed life.
