Homero earned a degree in education in Mexico and dedicated the early years of his career to teaching. On January 25, 1959, he married the love of his life, Ofelia Campos, in Monterrey, Mexico. After moving to Houston, Texas, he continued his life of service through his work with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, where he was employed for 25 years.
Homero was a devoted Christian who lived according to Scripture, prioritizing service, love, and righteousness in his daily life.
He was a loving husband and father, and above all, a cherished grandfather affectionately known as “Titi.” To his grandchildren, this was the name that best captured his heart and spirit. He often said they gave him life — perhaps even more than his favorite Coca Cola and french fries. One of his greatest blessings was witnessing each of them graduate from high school and college, moments that filled him with immense pride. They were his greatest joy and purpose. Through his example, he taught them the importance of faith, love, and family. His children and grandchildren will forever carry his lessons in their hearts and honor the role model he was in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ofelia Campos, and his daughters, Griselda Campos and Sandra McCoy.
He is survived by his daughter, Irasema Rocchi, and her husband, Joseph Rocchi; his son, Homero Campos Jr., and daughter-n-law Sylvia Campos; his grandchildren, Nadia Rocchi, Haley Rocchi, Ryan Rocchi, Anthony McCoy, and Evan McCoy; and his son-in-law, Jim McCoy.
