Hope Zertuche

Hope Valenzuela Zertuche of Houston TX, born in San Antonio TX, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She lived a rich and fulfilling life as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Hope’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and community.

She raised seven children, working tirelessly to keep her family together and happy. After retiring from HISD in 1989, she continued to inspire others by teaching English to senior citizens at the local YWCA. She loved taking trips with the Seniors group and with friends.

Hope was known for her beautiful singing voice and love of music. She was also a gifted gardener who took pride in her beautifully landscaped yard. Her cooking made holiday gatherings special, creating memories her family will cherish forever. Hope’s love and the memories she left behind will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her children: Jose Luis Zertuche, Helen Zertuche, and Theresa Zertuche. She is survived by her children: Diana Eickenberg and wife Betty of Bay City, TX; Eva Zertuche of Houston, TX; Anita Delgado and husband Daniel of Houston, TX; Emily Hintz and husband Robert of Hayward, WI; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
