Mr. Hopeton Grant, affectionately called "Hopie" by siblings and friends, made his transition October 27th at the age of 92. Born in Jamaica Oct 12, 1927, he was the first born for parents Williams and Kathlene Grant. His large community of friends began in his youth while attending Falmouth All Age School and continued to grow throughout his life. He was honorable discharged from the Royal Air Force in 1948, which he proudly served for four years.
For many years Mr. Grant worked in Florida under the Farm Workers Program to provide for his family. He had a love for shoes like no other and when not working in Florida, he pursued his love for shoes as a shoemaker; one you would never catch without a shoe horn in his pocket. It's clear where is passion lied knowing that!!
With Ms. Eulalee Sterling, who soon became Eulalee Grant lovingly know as "Aunt Tiny", they produced 4 children. The eldest Alfred (deceased), Syble, Charles, and Ashton Grant. Together they had a deep love for God attending church, taking part in community affairs and eventually joining the Masonic Lodge when they became Icons.
Mr. Grant and his wife eventually migrated to the US where he remained very active working, participating in family and community events. Traveling, growing and being a babysitter from time to time, actively a part of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives. All of who were present when he drew his last breath. We all love him beyond words but our God loves him best!
