God called our beloved Hortensia Adrien nee Raphael home to eternal peace and happiness on Wednesday, 20th April 2022, at her residence in Houston, surrounded by her daughters. Hortensia was born on 25th September 1926 to Yvonne Patrice and Victor Raphael both of whom predeceased her. On 23rd May 1957 she married William Adrien and was widowed in 1977.
Hortensia is survived by her Children: Justice Wynante Adrien-Roberts, Mrs. Wendy Adrien-Prevost, Mr. Winston Adrien and Dr. Wilhelmine Adrien; Step-daughter: Paula Louis; Son-in-law: Benedict Prevost; Daughter-in-law: Lucille Adrien; Grandchildren: Alex-Maree and Aleisha Roberts, Ishan, Allisian and Jeremiah Adrien; Great-grand daughter Nailah, Sister: Eurelia Bellevue; Brothers Andrew Defoe and Martin Peltier and numerous Step-grand children, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Hortensia was the epitome of motherhood acquitting herself admirably of duties that fell to her in that capacity. Although she was a disciplinarian demanding impeccable behaviour and not sparing the proverbial rod, Hortensia was fiercely and absolutely devoted to family. She was kind, compassionate and generous always putting the needs of her family before hers. We her children and grandchildren were her purpose. She was our prayer warrior, guidance counsellor, biggest cheerleader, and constant supporter. We felt her love and dedication in everything that she did and would not be where we are today if we did not have her as a mother. We were blessed
Hortensia’s legacy though is a deep abiding faith in God. She was a devout Roman Catholic and faced all life’s challenges with unwavering trust in God’s promise to be forever faithful to her.

Dear Friend, in support of the Dialysis Committee of The Dominica SiFoCol (Sixth Form College) Alumni Association, we are kindly requesting your assistance with obtaining much needed dialysis equipment and supplies for Dominicans with kidney disease.
The Dialysis Committee of the Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association (DSAA) moved into action after witnessing firsthand, the challenges faced by a former classmate, colleague, and friend who succumbed to kidney disease about a year ago. DSAA is raising funds in his honor to further support efforts in Dominica to bring dialysis treatment and care to the rural parts of the island.
The goal this year is to raise $110,000 towards the purchase, ancillary supplies, shipment, and training costs for 2 dialysis machines. This will advance treatment capability, and will impact educational and prevention campaigns related to the importance of kidney health.
