Howard Gene Woods,72, of Houston, Texas went to be with The Lord on Nov. 2, 2012. He was born in Carthage, Texas, on February 16,1940. He attended Carthage High School and served in the Us Armed Forces for 6 years, as well as fought in the Korean War. Gene retired from Metro after 36 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Opal Woods, sister Daisy Murl Smith and daughter, Wanda Denise O'neal. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gail Patrice Woods, of Houston, Texas. His brotherGeorge Woods of Houston, Texas.His children: John Woods Sr, Felicia Woods-Pete( Anthony), Cedric Woods, Dedric Woods, Chavan Dolphin, Chincia Washington(Terrance).Grandchildren: Roderick, Reginald, Melvin, Marvin, Brandon, Kela, Dayvon, Brianna, John Jr., Jhyren, Skylar, Xavier, and Joshua Great-Grandchild: Anthony.Numerous nieces,nephews, and a host of family and friends. Services for Mr. Woods will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012, with a visitation from 6-9PM, in the Garden of Hope Chapel of Paradise Funeral Home. Homegoing Services will follow on Friday, November 9, 2012, beginning at 9:00AM, also in the Garden of Hope Chapel of Paradise Funeral Home. Pastor Edward Simmons will bring forth the Message of Comfort. Mr. Woods earthly tabernacle shall rest in the Houston National Cemetery (Gate Time: 12Noon)
