From a young age, he endured profound loss and took on great responsibility, working tirelessly to help support and care for his family.
After completing his military service, Hyun Gap dedicated his life to honest and hard work, serving as a trailer driver, bus driver, and taxi driver. He took great pride in a lifetime of safe driving and will be remembered for his perseverance, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He was the loving father of one son and two daughters, and he also embraced his nephew as his own. Though quiet in words, Hyun Gap expressed his love through sacrifice, kindness, and steadfast care. He encouraged his children in faith and supported them wholeheartedly.
After retirement, Hyun Gap moved to Houston in 2013 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He found great joy in caring for his grandchildren, spending time with family, and enjoying golf in his later years. He was known for his punctuality, generosity, and thoughtful nature.
After being diagnosed with lung cancer that later spread to his brain, Hyun Gap spent his final days surrounded by loved ones. In that time, his family grew even closer in love and unity.
