

Ida lived in Houston for over 70 years and was a native of Ruth, Miss. Ida loved spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and the occasional sightseeing trip or gambling trip with friends and family. She was a long-time employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and blazed the trail for many women to move into jobs that were traditionally held by men. She passed Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, of natural causes after a long and rewarding life. She was 95.
Visitation at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2025; for 10 a.m. viewing, 11 a.m. service and burial at noon.
Ida is survived by her son Mike Alexander and his wife Brenda and their children Emma Alexander and Cole Alexander and Cole’s wife Fabiola. Ida was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Alexander Foley; Susan’s surviving husband Gerald Foley and their children Brett Henderson and wife Brandi, Blair Mohr and her husband Josh, Joseph Yaple and his wife Ivette, Ida Yaple, Zachary Foley, and Joshua Foley.
Ida has many siblings, her surviving brothers Frank Lambert, Harry Lambert, and Larry Lambert. Ida was preceded in death by her siblings; Doris Lemoine, Cathy Brown, Bertha Lambert, Judy Soto, Ethel Carraway, Matthew Lambert, and Tommy Lambert. Ida was also preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Alzada Lambert.
Ida has numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families whom she loved dearly.
