We announce with sadness the passing of Ima Jean Harrison on January 17, 2024, at the age of 83. She fought cancer bravely until the end.
Ima Jean was born in Sugar Land, Texas, in 1940 to Ima and Austin Copeland, Jr. Known for her love and warmth, she positively influenced the lives of her family and friends.
She leaves behind her son Travis and his wife Christine, her daughter Elizabeth, her brother Don Copeland and his wife Ann, and her sister-in-law Chrissy Tate. Her grandchildren Loren Schlieter and her husband Leighton, Callie Harrison, and Austin Harrison and his wife Leah will remember her fondly.
Ima Jean was predeceased by her son Christian and her husband Phillip, to whom she was married for 61 years.
A service to remember Ima Jean will be held at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, on Friday, February 2, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (ocrahope.org) or your favorite animal charity as a way to honor Ima Jean's compassionate spirit.
Ima Jean will be deeply missed but always remembered by those who knew her.
