Born in Riobamba, Ecuador, on June 13, 1939, Inés grew up under difficult circumstances and took on responsibilities far beyond her years. Life asked much of her, and she met it with strength and determination. In her early adulthood, she made the bold decision to leave her home country in search of a better future. With the support of her brother, she moved to New York and later settled in Houston, Texas.
Despite the challenges she faced, Inés always made time for those she loved. She prepared meals with care, made celebrations feel special, and continued to cook for her husband every day, even into her later years. Her love was constant — expressed through small but meaningful gestures that nourished both body and spirit.
Her faith was a guiding light. A devoted Catholic, Inés was a member of St. Theresa’s Church for many years and actively participated in a women’s group that brought her community and spiritual strength.
She found deep joy in watching her children and grandchildren grow into kind, stable adults. She was always proud of their lives and achievements, and her love for them was unwavering. Her grandchildren will remember the warmth of her kitchen, the care she showed for their well-being, and the joy she felt in simply being together.
To those who knew her, Inés was a survivor — a woman who endured much but never let it define her. She met adversity with quiet dignity, chose the path forward, and walked it with unwavering dedication. She was strong. She was loving. She was resilient.
She is survived by her husband Guillermo, her son Alex, her grandchildren Christopher, Jack, and Maisey, and her great-grandson Elijah. She was preceded in death by her mother Victoria, her daughter Jacqueline, her sister Cecilia and Anita, and her brothers Guillermo, Rodrigo, and Jaime.
Her memory lives on in the hearts she touched and the family she so lovingly shaped.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, United States. The service is scheduled for August 7, 2025, at 10:00 am.
