Inez Janet Henry

Janet was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, on December 12, 1939 to John and Gwennyeth Carpenter. She graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana and received a Business degree from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.

Janet is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, John Preston Henry, Jr. When they retired, they loved traveling, camping, and socializing with their Good Sam Camping and RV Club as well as playing bingo and going to dances at the local senior centers. Janet loved to dance, read, and take care of her family.

Janet is also preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy Carpenter Buller, brother Joe Carpenter, and nephews David Buller and Greg Carpenter.

Janet is survived by her children Sharon Henry of Conroe, Texas, Elizabeth Henry Bell of Conroe, Texas, and John P. Henry, Ill of League City, Texas; her grandchildren Bryce Henry of Abilene, Texas, Victoria Bell of Conroe, Texas, and Haley Henry of Houston, Texas; brothers and sister-in-laws Chester "Bud" Carpenter and Marsha Carpenter of Alexandria, Louisiana and John Carpenter and Linda Carpenter of Red Rock, Arizona; as well as many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US, on July 29, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

A Celebration of Life will take place at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US, on July 29, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on July 29, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
