On October 19, 2026, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and cherished family matriarch, Irene Andrus, peacefully reposed at the age of 86. Born on August 7, 1940, in Houston, Texas. She later made her home in Cypress, Texas, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
For thirty years, Irene worked for Foley's Department Store, but her greatest life's work was caring for her family. She devoted herself to raising children, grandchildren, and generations that followed. To those who knew her best, she was more than a mother or grandmother. She was the heart of the family, a constant source of love, wisdom, comfort, strength, and unwavering support.
Irene found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing cards, working word searches and Sudoku puzzles, and faithfully keeping up with her favorite daytime soap operas. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her home, her laughter, and her presence brought people together and created countless memories that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eva Hirsch; her beloved husband, John Andrus; her youngest son, Thomas Mosley Jr.; and ten siblings.
She is survived by her sisters, Ann Nobles and Sissy Savensky; her brother, Butch Hirsch; her daughter Becky Kohring and husband Fred; her daughter Linda Tickner and husband Doug; her son Ricky Mosley and wife Sharon; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are deeply grateful for the gift of her life and the love she shared so freely. Her kindness became our comfort, her wisdom our guide, and her example a lasting inheritance. The legacy she leaves behind lives on in the family she nurtured, the generations she helped raise, and the countless lives she touched.
As her family, we take comfort in knowing that the love she gave will continue to inspire us for years to come. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
"Her children rise up and call her blessed."
