With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Irene G. Laurenzana, age 98, on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, at her home in Houston, Texas.
Born on July 2, 1927, in Houston, Texas, Irene lived a life defined by faith, love, strength, and devotion to her family. She married the love of her life, Albert G. Laurenzana, Sr., on September 4, 1949, and together they built a loving home and shared many wonderful years together.
Irene enjoyed a successful career in banking before retiring. She was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and quiet strength. In her leisure time, she loved reading and working word search puzzles, finding joy in life's simple pleasures. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, who were the greatest blessing of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Donaciano and Petra Gonzalez; her devoted husband, Albert G. Laurenzana, Sr.; and her son, Albert G. Laurenzana, Jr.
Irene leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her loving daughters, Ninfa Ortiz and Liz Laurenzana; her son-in-law, Ralph Ortiz; her grandchildren, Jennifer Benavidez and husband Roel Benavidez, Corie Ortiz, Loraine Perez, Raul Ortiz and wife Bri Ortiz, Gabrielle Leveritt and husband Todd Leveritt, Marcos Hernandez, and Allison Laurenzana. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Irene is now reunited with her Lord and Savior and with those who went before her. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of VARCO Hospice Care for their loving support and exceptional care during her final days at home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77003. Chapel services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Irene's legacy of love, faith, kindness, and family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
