

Irma C. Medina, known to her fans as “Güera”, died February 22, 2017 aged 80 at her home. She was born December 21, 1936 in Houston, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Medina, son Roger Medina, parents Alfonso and Lenora Cantu, and sisters, Lenora and Mary Lou Cantu. She survived by her four sons, Robert, Roland (Iris), Ronnie (Tammy), and Davey (Adriana); five grandchildren Roland Jr., Ronnie Jr., Madison, Zachary, and Mayela; and siblings Esther Gonzales and Alfonso Cantu Jr.
People loved to visit her because she was always ready with new stories. Her words were always energized and hilarious. As a visitor you needed to be prepared to watch Wheel of Fortune, Spanish novellas, and leave smelling like a fresh cigarette. She was the life of the party. She was a devoted mother, wife, and friend.
Her final celebration is being held at American Heritage Funeral Home on Monday February 27, 2017. Visitation will be from 11am to 12pm with a rosary service beginning at 12pm. Services will follow at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery at 2pm.
