Isabel T. Nart of Houston, Texas was born in Havana, Cuba on September 25, 1922. Isabel’s family was fortunate to immigrate to the United States in 1960. Her and her family moved from Havana to Tampa to Hillsboro and finally to Pasadena, Texas. Isabel had a competitive spirit which translated to her being an expert level canasta player.
She was an avid Astros fan for 60 years, a love for the game that she shared with her father Julian. Her other passions include cooking, Cuban music, and spoiling her grandchildren. She had multiple beloved dogs and cats throughout the years. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband J. Armando Nart, MD to whom she was happily married for 50 years until his death in 2001. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Isabel M. Nart, parents Julian and Rafaela Thomaty, and sisters Carmen Cordero and Rosario Thomaty. She is survived by son Armando Nart, MD, daughter-in-law Darlene Nart, grandson Christopher Nart and his wife Niki, and granddaughter Amanda Nart. She’s also survived by one great-grandson Abram whom she was able to meet at their shared 1st and 97th birthday party. She’s survived by nieces Cristina Cordero (children Cristi and Edward Juvier) and Carmen Cordero (husband Herminio and their children Carlos and Isabel) and her nephew Ruben Armiñana (wife Marne). The family would like to thank her many caregivers, especially Amparo Diaz, Cynthia Diaz, and Lillian Perez, NP.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26th at Forest Park-Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer Rd. at 10:00 AM.
