

Isabel Sanchez was born in Houston, Texas on the 30th of December, 1942 but raised in El Campo, Texas by her Grandparents. She departed this physical life from her longtime home in Houston, on the 26th of February, 2017.
Isabel was born to the late Martin Ortega and Isabel Rivera. Educated in El Campo, Texas, graduating from El Campo High in 1961. Later graduated with an associate degree from Wharton Jr. College.
Isabel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. She loved gardening, knitting, decorating her home and volunteering at the Nutcracker. Upon retiring from the Postal Service with 37 years as a Postmaster she spear-headed many church functions. A practical person, Isabel could always be counted on to tackle a job such as cleaning the church, helping with the Seafarer’s project, Spring fling, CCW President, member of the Catholic Advisory board. She lived her life for others and devoted endless hours to her children’s and Elderly Parents. “Whatever you do in life, do your best and God will do the rest”, is the legacy she bequeathed to her family.
Isabel is survived her Husband, Mario; sons Mario A/Liz, and Roland R./Jennifer; step-grandchildren, Joey/Frances, and Lisa/David; Sisters, Aurora, Toni and Dolores; grandsons, Wilson; Michael/Chris; Mario R/Lucy; Alexander R; Christopher; Anna; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link, Houston, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with a reception to follow the mass from 11:30 am to 1:00pm. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Corpus Christi Church and CCW. Arrangements under the direction of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, Houston, TX.
