Isabelle Garza Ortiz was a strong, independent, and caring mother who was born on November 5, 1939, in Rockdale, Texas to Anastacio and Guadalupe (Reyes) Garza. She passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, surrounded by her family at 84 years of age.
She enjoyed donating and helping others, especially by mail to numerous charities. She was a faithful and active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since the early 1970s. She enjoyed her coffee bright and early and loved going out to eat— everyday if she could. She enjoyed baking and was known for her banana bread and upside-down pineapple cake. She took every opportunity she could to put on her dancing shoes and could not say no to a quinceañera. Most notably, she loved taking chances and living life on her own accord. Until the end, she was a workaholic with a great work ethic and truly loved helping her clients— who became family.
She is survived by her 4 children, Maria T. Godoy (Alfredo); David Gaona (Patty); Alma L. Gaona and Emilio Gaona; 9 grandchildren, Annette M. Gaona (Lalo), Vanessa M. Gaona (Mary); Clarissa M. Gaona (Julio), Alfredo Godoy, Eric D. Gaona, Isaac E. Gaona, Jaime Jimenez Jr.; Joshua P. Gaona and Samara A. Gaona; along with 7 great-grandchildren, Nathan E. Tovias; Lexi M. Tovias, Julian A. Molina-Gaona; Destini A. Tovias, Maverick Cobb (Gaona), Benjamin S. Tovias and Madan Cobb (Gaona). She is also survived by extended family members, close friends and many Godchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Gaona, Emilio Gaona, Lalo Tovias, Julio Molina, Alfredo Godoy, Eric Gaona, Isaac Gaona, Jaime Jimenez Jr., Joshua Gaona, and Nathan Tovias.
