Mr. Israel Chavana, age 91, a resident of Humble, TX, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. On Friday, August 30, 2019, a visitation at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. will be held at the Brookside Funeral Home with the internment to follow.
Mr. Chavana was a sergeant in the U.S. Army for 2 years after graduating from high school in Edinburg, TX. He enjoyed playing tournament pool throughout the years and shuffleboard in his later years. He also Loved Watching the Astros. He had a thriving career most of his life in the auto parts industry. Israel was among a big and loving family whom he would often visit back in his hometown.
He is predeceased by his parents Eriberta and Ramon Chavana Sr, his brothers Jesus, Benito, Santiago, and Ramon and his wife Barbara Ann Chavana.
Israel is survived by his children (6): Nilda and (Husband) Baldemar Garcia, Velma Delgado, Sylvia and (Husband) Rick Culver, Mary and (Husband) Bryan Vickrey, Larry and (Wife) Vivian Chavana, David and (Wife) Terri Chavana. Grandkids (13): Ricky Delgado, Michael Delgado, Cassie and (Husband) Jarrad Jensen, Nidia and (Husband) Luke Brassard, Bryan Garcia, Ashley Chavana, Katrina Culver, Karly Culver, Amber Chavana, Aaron and (Wife) Courtney Chavana, Brooke Chavana, Peyton Vickrey, Mackenzie Vickrey. Great Grandkids (5) : Jaxon Jensen, Jaye Jensen, Nora Brassard, June Jensen and Gabriella Garza along with numerous nephews and nieces.
