Services commemorating Ivory's life will be held with a visitation on Sunday, August 5, 2012, from 6-9pm at the St. John MBC 2222 Gray St. Houston, Tx 77003, where Dr. Keven D. Johnson is Pastor. On Monday, August 6, 2012, the Homegoing Celebration will be held at The Church Without Walls - Queenston Campus, 5725 Queenston Blvd. Houston, Tx 77084, where Dr. Ralph D. West is Pastor / Founder. Tucker's earthly tabernacle shall rest in the Houston National Cemetery. He leaves cherished memories with his wife, Jacqueline T. Gaines; daughters Dolia "Dottie Sommers, Cynthia Snaril; sons, Douglas Ray "Scuba" Hughes, Ira G. (Kelly) Mayes, step-daughter Kristi Honore, beloved daughter-in-law Renee Adams; siblings Betty Jean (Abel) Owens, Isaac (JoAnn) Gaines, Jr., Harris (Wanda) Gaines, Peggy Thompson and Vern Leaks; sisters-in-law Beverly (Alvin) Young and Lizzie Booker Jones; god-children: The Starks Family; ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Tucker left a lasting impression on all those who shared a moment of his company. He always offered friendly advice on how to take care of yourself and your health. He loved talking about his military experience, truck driving and most of all, his love for the Lord. He was a kind hearted man with a gentle spirit that loved his family and friends.
