I had the distinct honor of getting to know Jack when we were raising funds to throw the 140th Delta Kappa Epsilon International Convention in Austin; the first ever in Texas. Jack, together with Ben Love, wrote to the alumni, and the generosity that flowed from that effort helped to create an outstanding, Texas style, convention.
Many will remember his generosity to so many things dear to his heart, but not many may know about his steadfast devotion to dear old DKE.

I felt blessed to have encountered and learned from such a spirit during his time on the earth.

Jack was such a wonderful benefactor. We all will miss him.
I always looked forward to seeing Jack and Virginia at the Wildflower Gala.
Now he can help Lady Bird finish their work in Heaven.

Mr. Blanton was indeed a giant of a man. He was the epitome of integrity. One could learn more from him in one sentence spoken than a thousand words from others. He was a very wise man. He never knew a stranger and always had a kind word to share. He made you feel important and when in his presence you had his undivided attention.

He cared deeply for his beautiful family and he was a man to be admired. He said once you can tell much about a man by how he treats his family and employees. He was an example by how he daily went about his life. I admired him and always will. He was indeed one of a kind.

My sincere condolences go out to Ginger and his children and his extended family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. God's blessings to all of you.
