Jackson Monroe Fulweber, 15, passed from this world into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 23, 2024. Jackson was born in Houston, Texas on August 26, 2008, to Michael and Erin Fulweber.
Jackson was a freshman at Houston Stratford High School. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt, and relished his evenings at the Floyd Ranch, sitting by the fire sharing tales of the day’s events. Jackson also loved to play sports. He played both offense and defense in football, was a standout on two teams that played in the Tully Bowl, and was excited about representing the Spartans on the gridiron. He also loved to play golf. He hit the ball a country mile and was planning to spend the summer honing his skills at Pine Forest Country Club. But, Jackson’s true love was baseball. He played whenever and wherever he could. He first fell in love with the sport through the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association, soon added summer and fall baseball, playing for the Warriors, Forresters, and Marucci baseball organizations, and, this spring, he played for the Spartans Junior Varsity team. Jackson and his friends also gathered regularly in the neighborhood to play wiffle ball.
Sports aside, Jackson was an incredible young man with a bright future. He loved a good joke, enjoyed playing jokes on others, and genuinely wanted those around him to be happy. He had many friends, whom he cherished, and they cherished him. He will be missed by so many.
Jackson was baptized at his grandparents’ house by Dr. Jim Jackson, formerly Senior Pastor at Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Jackson was surrounded by family, including his ailing grandfather and his godparents (Jeanelle Kirby and Carey Johnson). Jackson was later confirmed at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, where he spent his formative years, developed an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, strengthened existing friendships, and formed new ones.
Jackson is survived by parents, Michael and Erin Fulweber, his paternal grandmother, Nan Fulweber of Houston, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Holmes of The Woodlands. He also leaves behind a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom loved him dearly, Terri and David Morrison and their children, Wade, Jake, Mary Catherine, Beth Ann, and Hudson, Karen and Stephen Lee and their children, Stephen, Jr., Robert, and Elizabeth, James Fulweber and Alicia Dedman and his children, Ava and Adair, Rebecca Fulweber, Jeanelle and Dr. David Kirby, and their children, Jake, Kara, and Jack, Kara and Nicholas Gilbert and their children Madison and Riley, and Joseph and Jessica Holmes and their children Isabella and Juliana.
The family will receive friends from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, June 4 at Wesley Hall, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, at 12955 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079. A memorial service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, June 5 also at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Jarboe, Dr. Wick Stuckey, and Rev. Andrew Cunningham, with a reception to follow. The family respectfully requests that attendees wear Stratford green.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Stratford community and their loving neighbors, a.k.a. The Griswolds, who have stood by their side during these difficult days, as well as the staff at Pine Forest Country Club, and teachers, coaches, and administrators at Stratford High School.
