Jacob (Jake) Andrew Coronado-Pope, 26, of Houston, passed away May 21, 2019. He was the owner of JP Landscaping and joint owner of Pope Land Clearing and Excavation with his dad, Bob Pope. Jake is survived by his parents, Bob and Rebecca Lois Pope and his biological father, Roy Coronado. He was the youngest sibling leaving behind his sister Crystal Mitchell, his brothers Jason Coronado-Pope, Richard Coronado, and Chris Coronado; along with his niece Halberra Byrd and nephews, Christian Coronado and Jeremiah Coronado who reside in the Greater Houston area. He will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his friends whom he loved like family.
Jake had a fondness for hunting, golf, country music and his truck. He was instantly recognizable in his cowboy boots, Oakleys, and ball cap. He always had a smile handy and he was deeply committed to his family and friends. He was determined and dedicated when it came to work. He was affable and funny when it was time to kick back. Jake could hustle a golf game, listen if you had a problem, and give a hug when needed.
He could be mischievous or even fearless when the mood struck, and it certainly landed him in hot water more than once. Jake had stories to tell and a sly smile when it came to the riskier ones. He had a fiery streak with a kind soul. Benevolent people can feel like a rarity but he was genuinely caring and generous. Jake was the kind of guy you couldn’t help but like, he was a good man.
Jacob touched the lives of not only his family, but his friends and their families in a unique and genuinely special way. He was a loyal friend and adopted family member in multiple households. Jake was loved by more people than can be named and his absence will be felt in many homes. His smile will live forever in the countless memories of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek, Houston on Sunday, May 26th 2019 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The First Tee of Greater Houston, a youth golfing non-profit that strives to build character and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
