Jacob “Chip” Micah Scott, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2021 in Houston, TX. He was 33 years of age and born on August 7th, 1987 in Houston, Texas. Chip was born and raised in the Spring Branch area, attending Memorial High School where he was an avid soccer player, and later attending The University of Houston where was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and majored in Geology. Chip grew up in the neighborhood of Hilshire Village, where he loved to spend time with his closest friends and family. He loved to explore nature and spend time outside, often sipping afternoon-tea with family and talking about the latest news or TV shows, smoking Shisha with his Dad, James E. Scott III and having lively evening dinners with his brothers and parents often.
People were drawn to Chip because he had a passion for helping others, as well as his kind, compassionate and genuine nature. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his friends, family, and pups Sadie & Riley. Chip was more than a “foodie” as he loved any and all types of different food, this played a large part in his willingness to give back to the international community, where he spent time abroad with youth leading community groups in Sri Lanka. His travels to Bali, Singapore, Australia and Europe also were topics of conversation and excitement for him. His favorite destination by far was Singapore, taking after his late mother, Brenda Ann Scott. He was always up for a trip to the family beach house in Galveston, TX, where he spent his time playing with the dogs or going fishing in the Gulf or chats with his family. He could be found enjoying a cigar or two with his brothers and Dad in the afternoons after work or pulling his latest pranks on the unsuspecting.
Chip will forever be remembered and adored as someone who could light up a room with his big smile and soft nature. His ability to make others feel comfortable and appreciated was infectious. He was loved by anyone he came across, and was truly generous down to his core.
Chip is survived by his brothers, James Edward Scott IV, wife Jodie Scott and Daughter Madeline Soto, Joshua Drew Scott, Jeb Adam Scott, wife Mariko Scott and daughter Kaitlyn Scott, Joseph Dominic Scott and Jessie Norris; Longtime girlfriend Kathryne Aulds; Aunt and Uncle Sally Russ and husband William Russ, their children Will Russ and Molly Russ.
A special thank you to all the friends and family who have always stood by his side, just know he loved and appreciated each and every one of you. His radiant smile, heartfelt laughter and most importantly his genuine kindness will forever be imprinted in our minds.
