Jacqueline U Modisette

On September 24, 1956, Jaqueline married the love of her life, Ray Modisette, in Port Houston. Their marriage spanned an incredible 63 years, a testament to their enduring love and devotion. A dedicated member of Gospel Assembly Church, Jaqueline found great joy in her faith and cherished her involvement in the women’s prayer meetings. Her passion for sewing and her deep commitment to her church community were hallmarks of her life.

Jaqueline’s love for her family was boundless. She especially treasured the close bond she shared with her daughter-in-law Cathy Modisette, who held a special place in her heart as both a friend and family member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Genevieve Underwood; her brothers Bob and Erman Underwood; and her sister Jeanie Underwood.

Jaqueline is survived by her brothers John Underwood and Butch Underwood; her son Lesley Modisette and his wife Cathy; her daughters Michelle Parsons and her husband Bob, and Alys Jackson. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Ava and Will Lloyd; Lyndsey and Guy Dunlap; Candice and Thomas Weaver; Kenny and Jessica Gaskin; Megan and Carl Gustafson; Ryan and Jamesha Jackson; Dillon and Brie Jackson; Alyssa Jackson; as well as six great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by numerous friends and extended family members.

Jaqueline’s unwavering faith, devotion to family, and kind spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.

A visitation for Jacqueline will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Jackson, Dillan Jackson , Carl Gustafson, Lance Weaver, Kole Weaver, Justin White, Will Lloyd and Cash Lloyd.
