

Jake A. Warr, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, May 21, 2012. He was born on August 25, 1922 in Enterprise , AL. He joined the U.S. Navy at 18 to serve during World War II. Jake survived six invasions in the South Pacific and many airstrikes on Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He then began working in the oilfields of south Louisiana where he met the love of his life, Lula Broussard. They soon married and began their life of 65 beautiful years together. Jake was an extremely talented engineer and worked many years in the oil and gas industry, providing a wonderful life for his family. He was a master gardener, a creative carpenter and a devout Catholic. However, he will be remembered most for being the loved and respected leader of his ever growing family. Jake always considered his greatest achievement in life to be his family. He is survived by his wife Lula; Sandy Hughey and husband, Keith of San Antonio, Texas, Kenny Warr and wife, Susie of Simonton, Texas, Tom Warr of Simonton, Texas, Carla Cantrell and husband, Ray of Houston, Texas, Ray Warr and wife, Charissa of Simonton, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Jake “Cher” “Daddy” “Paw Paw” “Big Paw Paw” will live on in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held 5 - 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 5610 Demel St., Wallis, TX 77485. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
