Jim attended school in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1980. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he studied business. He attended First Methodist Church of Conroe. During Jim’s career he worked offshore as a chef, he always had a passion for cooking and serving people. Another job that he enjoyed was his long-haul truck driving that allowed him to see our beautiful country.
Jim was predeceased by his father, James Paul Bankston Sr. in 1969. Jim’s life will forever be remembered and cherished by parents, Darlene K. Mosty and Robert Mosty Jr. of Montgomery, Texas; two sisters, Denae Mosty Valverde and Cheryl K. Raymond of The Woodlands, Texas; brothers-in-law, Eddie Valverde and Brandon Raymond; nephew and nieces, Christian Valverde, Emma Valverde and Caroline Raymond; uncle Alva “Sonny” Hall Baker Jr. of Kerrville, Texas; aunts Sharon Singleton of Pearland, Texas and Jamie Harper of Houston, Texas; great aunt Pauline Bankston of Cypress, Texas and numerous other cousins and friends.
His caring nature was demonstrated by his wish to be an organ donor. Our family was informed that his kidneys were able to save 2 lives. We are grateful to the Life Gift Organization for their care and compassion to our family during this process.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
