James Edward Clark (Jim) age 87 formerly of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on September 20, 2023 at the home of his son David in Houston, TX. He was born June 20, 1936 in Verona, MO to his late parents, Edward and Mabel Clark.
Jim was the father of Debora Clark, David Clark and Gary Clark (Melissa) and was formerly married to Sheila Clark. Devoted grandfather of Lauren Clark (Ward), Madeline Clark and Emily Clark. Fond brother of the late Shirley Tate (Gene), Vicki Johnson (Carl) and Thomas Clark (Joyce) and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was raised on a farm outside of Verona, Missouri. Upon graduation from Aurora, MO high school in 1954 he joined the U.S. Air Force and spent over4 years in England and Germany in The Security Service.
After his discharge, he returned to Springfield, MO where he began his long career with the Lily Tulip Cup Company while also attending Drury University on the G.I. Bill. He graduated from Drury in 1968. In 1969 he transferred to Chicago, IL where he worked with many large companies such as McDonalds in supplying their paper products.
During that time he raised his family in Buffalo Grove, illinois and in 1985 was transferred to Augusta, GA. In 1987 He transferred back to the Chicago area and settled in Naperville, IL where he lived for 10 years. His happiest times were when he was salmon fishing on Lake Michigan off Waukegan harbor.
When he retired, in 1997, the sunshine state was calling him and he moved to Cape Coral, FL taking his beloved boat, all his fishing tackle and his 1965 Jaguar with him. We think he said "No more shoveling snow" as he pulled out of the driveway.
