

James Goulet Coatsworth, 87, passed away on April 30, 2012 after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. Mr. Coatsworth was a devoted husband to Berva Coatsworth as well as a brilliant businessman. In his early years he maintained a position as the Vice President of Sears & Roebuck in Mexico City. It was there where he perfected the Spanish language. Mr. Coatsworth excelled at being a businessman. He was very successful in his franchise ownership of Midas Mufflers. He could relate to anyone and was known for his dry humor. Mr. Coatsworth had a passion and it was piloting. Mr. Coatsworth owned and piloted more than one V-tail Bonanza and had about 2500 hours flight time. Mr. Coatsworth and his wife Berva traveled together and along with other couples throughout the years. He was a member of a private flying association which flew across the country. Mr. Coatsworth was a lifetime student of knowledge. Through a close friend and neighbor he acquired the Italian language. He greatly admired the Italian culture and pursued the opportunity to learn everything about it. He traveled the world with close friends to some of the most upper echelon destinations. He never did anything halfway. Mr. Coatsworth was the equivalent of a human Encyclopedia or these days, "Wikipedia." If you had any questions regarding history, medicine, engineering, mechanical, structural, electrical, current events, legal, languages or anything at all, simply ask Mr. Coatsworth and he could tell you the answers with complete knowledge. He was a great conversationalist and could tell a vivid story of all of his accomplishments. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a devoted wife of over 63 years, Berva T. Coatsworth. One brother, Don Coatsworth and wife Linda Coatsworth of Georgia and other relatives and friends. He also leaves a dear friend and business comrade of many decades Pino Farinola; an employee of over 30 years in whom Mr. Coatsworth had great confidence, Arnulfo Olayo. Lastly Mr. Coatsworth leaves his 4-legged companion Rocky which will certainly miss him as well.
